Introduction:

Acknowledge in greek "Yada" means to know, recognize, be acquaint, be aware, have understanding, have knowledge (of God)

In verse 5 it says we need to trust in the Lord. We could not acknowledge Him if we do not trust Him. If we really trusting the Lord we do not lean unto our own understanding - v.5

Many times our faith distracted by our own reasoning that leads to our own decision that will eventually lead to destruction and deception of our lives. We could not acknowledge Him if we lean into our own understanding.

Therefore, we need to Acknowledge Him.

I- GOD'S WAY IS PERFECT - v. 6 "In all thy ways acknowledge Him"

In Psalms 18: 30 it says God's way is perfect. It describes of integrity, truth, without blemish, complete. Therefore His ways is enough to assure us of safety, security, satisfaction, success, strength. We could not ask for more. God's is perfect.

In the early days the created earth of God was corrupted by man because all the flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. - Genesis 6:12-13. How dangerous it is to live in this wicked modern world of corruption.

Man's way could deceive himself- Proverbs 14:12

It is hard to preach, counsel, and advice the fool because they had their own way which they considered right in their own eyes.- Proverbs 12:15. Someone is proven fool primarily not because of his words but because of his way. - Psalms 49:13. A person is fool not of what he says but of what he does.

So, everyone need to acknowledge the perfect way of God and like David we need to humbly ask the Lord "Teach me thy way, O Lord" - Psalm 27:11. We need the example of David although he is the king the decision maker of the kingdom of the nation Israel still he shows he need the help and seek right direction from God. We need that kind of prayer of David because mostly our ways and thoughts are conflict or opposing the ways and thoughts of the Lord. - Isaiah 55:8

Yes, Christ is always there guiding us and teaching us the way of God truly. - Luke 20:21

Therefore we need someone like the Almighty and Sovereign God who should direct all our ways because we could not keep His statutes if not of His direction. And God assured us that when we walk in His ways we will not do any iniquity. - Psalm 119:5, 3

We need from day to day to pray and ask God to search us and consult Him and let Him correct and cleanse us if there be any wicked ways. - Psalm 139:1

We really have a blessed new year if we walk in His ways. - Psalm 128:1

As God promised to give the nation of Israel one heart, he also gives them one way. - Jeremiah 32:39 As God wants us to love Him wholeheartedly and serve Him with a single heart He also wants us to walk in His one and only perfect way.

If we want an answered prayer from God this year we need to commit our way which means acknowledge or recognize what He can do and not what you can do by then God promised to bring it to pass. - Psalm 37:5 We should not be like those double minded man who are unstable in all his ways who will not receive anything from the Lord. - James 1:8, 6-7

We cannot fool God and cannot hid from Him because He knows our way of the righteous and the way of the ungodly. - Psalm 1:6

Job declared that God knows our way means our sufferings, feelings and weaknesses when He gives us trials in life. - Job. 23:10 Therefore since God knows Job way during moment of trials He will also provide the way that Job could able to bear it. - I Corinthians. 10: 13.

Instead of backsliding, rebelling, complaining to God during sufferings acknowledge Him because His way is perfect.

We need to acknowledge Him because:

II- IT IS OBEDIENCE TO GOD - v.6 "acknowledge Him"

We are straightly commanded to recognize, know, and understand God.

Since His will, His Word, and way is perfect is is good for us to acknowledge Him. What can you expect this year in your life without His will, His Word and His way.

Only those rebellious, backslider, worldly and carnal minded do not acknowledge Him.

Acknowledging God means to let Him control and rule our life and by not doing so it is a sign of disobedience so it is sinful not to acknowledge Him.

III- GOD WILL DIRECT OUR PATHS - v. 6 "he shall direct thy paths."

Our paths need light. - Psalm 119:105

We should be humble enough to ask not only His ways but also to let Him teach us of His paths. - Psalm 25: 4

Remember that we are not consumed because of God's mercy (Lamentations 3:22) and this year we need to think that all the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth. - Psalm 25:10

There are no any safety and secured road of life but the paths of the Lord. Let Him direct our paths by acknowledging Him.

There is no peaceful new year if we made ourselves a crooked path like the nation Israel. - Isaiah 59:8

Let us have the New Year resolution to walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. - Proverbs 2:20

If God teaches us of His ways we should walk in His paths. - Isaiah 2:3

If we acknowledge His way He will direct our paths, so therefore let us walk in His paths. - Isaiah 2:3

He will not direct our paths if we do not acknowledge Him. Acknowledge God this year with His perfect way and directed path!!!
